HAVAL is committed to a cleaner and greener world, with immense research into New Energy like Hydrogen Fuel Cells and Plugin Hybrid. HAVAL is developing global high-quality SUV products using second-generation series and parallel hybrid technology. The technological innovation in the FCEV field enables HAVAL to produce the world’s leading hydrogen-powered SUV products. HAVAL plans to launch 20 global products with leading technologies within the four new modernizations by 2023.
HAVAL R&D Center in China
The HAVAL Research and Development Center has five functions including R&D, trial production, testing, modelling and data. There are 14 types of large-scale comprehensive testing laboratories for performance, NVH&BSR, reliability & durability, new energy and energy saving.
High Performance Testing Facility
GWM invested 1 billion yuan in building the facility, covering an area of about 1.14 million square meters. The facility includes 11 modules, such as a high-speed circuit, dynamic platform, test hills track, city square and handling track, with more than 100 typical test pavements and a total test mileage of 45 kilometres.
The total length of the high-speed circuit is 7,019 meters, with a maximum inclination of up to 47°. The highest design speed of the bend is 240km/h, ranking first in China.
1.5GDIT Engine
The 1.5GDIT engine independently developed by Great Wall Motor won the title of China’s Top Ten Engines 2017. The 1.5GDIT engine holds 92 patents and has complete intellectual property rights. CVVL independently developed by Great Wall Motor is integrated. Currently, only a few other brands such as BMW have similar engine technology. CVVL not only reduces fuel consumption by 8.4% but also improves maximum power by 12.7% and peak torque by 35.7%.
ALL-ROUND SAFETY
Adhering to the vehicle manufacturing concept of “safety first”, HAVAL aims to produce the safest SUV. HAVAL has established a design concept of “passenger and driver safety, pedestrian safety and vehicle safety – three-dimensional protection” (3DP). Haval has led in establishing the vehicle safety technology R&D system and the safety performance positive development process for the industry. So far, Great Wall Motor has been granted 114 patents and established 75 enterprise standards in safety. Meanwhile, HAVAL has formed a complete set of test development and verification systems for automobile safety components, system to vehicle. These not only meet the regulations and standards and NCAP test and assessment requirements of China, the European Union and the United States but also can be used for the reproducing tests of a series of actual traffic accidents.
